Marketers: Help Nonprofits at Our Gift of Communications Event

  • Johnson County Community College OCB Building, CoLAB Workspace Overland Park, KS, 66210 United States (map)

Often we ask, “What can I do?” Here’s the answer: Share your communications expertise to help local causes succeed.

Calling all KC IABC Members and Kansas City marketing communicators. Let's join together to help three exceptional KC nonprofit organizations:

We’ll be lending our skills in communications, social media and more to help these organizations thrive and change lives. After beginning the evening together, we’ll break into smaller groups to strategize with each organization regarding their specific communications challenges. Gift of Communications is a longtime KC IABC tradition, focused on helping nonprofits that have no dedicated professional communications staff. We invite you to make it part of your tradition as well.

NourishKC bases the efforts of its programs – Kansas City Community Kitchen (KCCK), Food Rescue, and Culinary Training – on the belief that Food is a basic human right. We believe that it is not enough just to fill bellies; the meals served to our guests should be hot, fresh, and nutritious. Our goal is to feed anyone in need and change lives in the process by partnering with other organizations and helping our volunteers build community.

We provide assistance in finding short-term accommodations for sexually exploited and trafficked women and children, assist in their preparation to enter into long-term restoration and reintegration programs.

We create spaces for our residents to thrive in the Kansas City community. There is an emergent housing crisis in America— our goal is to not only create access to home ownership in the metro area, but to ensure these benefits last for generations. MCLT seeks to create homes that provide access to home-ownership, and a sustainable use of limited subsidies, not just for the first lucky owner of the affordable house, but for generations of homeowners.
